A Message From Mark Cannon
Friends & Colleagues,
Thank you for taking a few minutes to read through some information about an organization that I am very proud to represent. For over 9 years I had the pleasure of being a Big Brother to Kai who many of you have had the joy of meeting. Through that time, I was lucky to have been paired with Kai, who has, and continues to be, as influential and helpful in my development as I hope I have been for him. My proudest moment was seeing Kai graduate high school and move into college which he is currently attending. Though our official match through BBBS has come to an end, our friendship is a lifelong one. Now I am involved in the organization as a member of the Board of Directors. In my time on the Board, my respect for both BBBS and its staff has grown tremendously and I feel more thankful than ever to be part of it on a daily basis.
BBBS is the oldest, largest and most effective youth mentoring organization in the United States, developing positive relationships that have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of young people. The link below provides a glimpse into the value of the mentoring relationship. With this said, like every charitable organization, we need funding to continue our mission. My ask is that you consider taking the 2018 Car Raffle Challenge in support of BBBS. Only 1,299 tickets will be sold and for every $100 donation, you get a chance to win a brand new Audi, Ford, Harley, Nissan or Mercedes. The drawing will be held at the Salt Creek Grille in Forrestal Village on September 26th at 8pm.
Please help in any way you can.
About This Event
A total of 1,017 tickets were sold in our 2018 SweetRideRaffle. Our winner is Barbara from Crosswicks,NJ who won with ticket #939, that she bought from board member Deb Runyon. Barbara and her husband had each purchased a ticket and 9/26being his birthday, thought his ticket had won when he answered the phone. Barbara was thrilled and said her husband had been complaining about her “rusty” old car for years - so in a way, it was a nice birthday present for him. Congratulations to Barbara (and Dave!).
Thanks to all for playing – this is a BIG win for the kids.
